-Most of these pearls are found in the water bodies of Philippines.The GSSP is also found in parts of Indonesia, Thailand, and Myanmar. It takes about 5 years for 1 pearl to form, three years for growing the oyster and two years for cultivating the pearl.
-The oyster that is responsible for producing the gold south sea pearl is the gold-lipped oyster--Pinctata maxima.These oysters are dependent on two main factors: Food and water temperature..when these two factors are favorable, they undergo external fertilization.This pearl is pretty rare.Less than 1% of oysters living in the wild possess the trait of having a golden lip.
